About the Department:

 

The Department of Information Techniques was established in 2017 to 2018 to cope with the rapid development of computer applications and to cope with the huge explosion of knowledge, which is the vast amount of information, as the computer is no longer confined to any field or specialization without the other. And became an integral part of our lives, hence emerged the need to create new department within the specialization of computer science to keep up with this interference between computer science and other disciplines. the Department of Information Techniques is the first department in the technical College of Management /Kufa, takes care of the use of information techniques in the work of the study and development of information systems that rely on the computer basically.

 

The department provides bachelor’s degree in Information Techniques over four years and includes specialized courses in the field of information techniques and other assistance. The theoretical and applied aspect of the study materials is 30% while the practical side occupies 70% of the study hours.

 

The subjects are taught by specialized lecturers in the field of computers, provided the department with the latest equipment in the laboratory and provided the training rooms with modern equipment to meet the needs of students and faculty members.

The department aspires to be a distinguished educational model in the field of education and community service as it seeks to be an important source of resources to provide the society with the competencies capable of managing the huge flow of advanced information, so that the accuracy of the basic information that is based on the mechanism of decision making, By increasing the efficiency of different works, raising productivity, and improving the quality of the output of various institutions of products or services.

The department seeks to lead in the field of education, research and community service by equipping specialists and researchers in the fields of information techniques by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge in accordance with the highest academic standards, considering the positive values ​​and trends towards computer work and information.

The objectives of the department are to provide information techniques programs to graduate competencies capable of:

  • Joining specialized positions in various fields including water, industrial, commercial, governmental, educational and health fields.
  • Help individuals and institutions achieve their desired goals by providing the required information on technical solutions and how to apply them in the best way.
  • Continuing follow-up of new developments in the field of information techniques and presentation of the application of these developments – updates to individuals and institutions concerned.
  • Ability to manage information technology for individuals and institutions.
  • Knowledge of the social and ethical responsibilities of IT professionals and contribute to the development of scientific, mathematical and theoretical foundations on which information techniques is based.
