- The university is a secure sanctuary and a center of cultural, intellectual, scientific, and technical enlightenment in the community. It is a space where the mind thrives, and creativity and innovation flourish to shape life. The university holds direct responsibility for achieving its goals through continuous studies and research across various aspects of human knowledge. These studies address scientific realities and emerging needs to maintain high standards suitable for the era and its demands, aiming to position Iraq among advanced nations.
- The university, along with its colleges, institutes, and affiliated centers, has a legal personality, administrative and financial independence, and the necessary legal capacity to achieve its objectives. The university’s affairs are managed by the University Council, with the headquarters of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University located in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate.
- The University Council meets regularly at least once a month. The university president may call for an extraordinary meeting when necessary or at the written request of one-third of its members. A quorum is achieved with the attendance of the majority of members. Decisions, suggestions, and recommendations are made by the majority of attendees, with the president's vote being decisive in case of a tie.
The university consists of the following units:-

3. Colleges, institutes, and scientific and research centers within the university.
4. Administrative departments in the university presidency.
