The launch of the second course of teaching methods at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for engineering specialties

As part of the University’s efforts and directions towards digital transformation, the president of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif al-Zubaidi, opened the second course of teaching methods organized by the Center for continuing education at the university presidency within the system for managing the University’s developmental training programs for the year 2023-2024 for engineering specialties according to the updated curriculum within the ministerial program .
During the opening of the course, the president of the University welcomed the participants and stated that the launch of such specialized training programs is a promising qualitative leap to develop the work of the continuing education department, which came within the objectives and mission of the University in serving various segments of society .
It is noteworthy that the course was attended by (30) a trainee and from various public and private universities and directorates of education in the province of “Babylon – Karbala – Samawa – Qadisiya and Najaf Ashraf ” .
The modern teaching methods course is one of the requirements for academic teaching in public and private universities, that the course will last for three months, in which the trainee will receive a number of training modules, including the first unit to the fourth unit lectures on ” education and teaching, education design, measurement and feedback, digital content development”, and then a lecture for ten minutes prepared by the trainee and evaluated by the trainers committee .
The trainee in the “fifth to eighth unit ” also receives lectures on “facilitation strategies, professional ethics, quality of education, and research methodology” .
He indicated that the last week will deal with the second Test, which includes a recorded lecture for a minute prepared by the trainee, as well as the third Test, which includes the preparation of an educational portfolio in the specialty and both are evaluated by the trainers committee .
It was also mentioned that the registration of participants in the course was through entering the system for managing the University’s training programs, installing their data and the method of paying fees, and that the performance of tests will also be through the system until receiving the final result and the validity of the breasts.
The lecturer, Dr. Aqeel Rahim, gave a lecture entitled Introduction to teaching and learning on the first day of the course.
In the same context, courses of teaching methods will be opened for various scientific, humanitarian and pedagogical specialties and registration will be opened in the coming days after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research to open courses of teaching methods for all specialties.
The opening of the course was attended by Vice president for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai.
