Smoke-Free Policy

Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University wants to provide a healthy and safe environment for all  staffs, students, clients, volunteers, and visitors. 

“Smoking” is defined as the inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying of any lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or other lighted smoking  equipment. Littering cigarette butts and other smoking-related litter is also prohibited.

This policy applies to all ATU staffs, students, clients, volunteers, and visitors at all times which was achieved by:

1. Declaring all campuses smoking-free in the campus 

2. Imposing fines on anyone who violates the smoking policy

3. Conducting awareness-raising activities regarding the harms and dangers of smoking

4. Put  no smoking signs will be posted and visible at everywhere

5. Limiting number of smoking places for certain limited status
