Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organizes its annual Orphans Festival at the halls of the Technical Engineering College in Najaf.

As part of efforts to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and loyalty in the community with orphans and their honorable families, and coinciding with the birth anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, under the patronage and presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, organized the annual Orphans Festival at the halls of the Technical Engineering College in Najaf, in collaboration with Al-Mustafa Foundation for Guidance and Religious Awareness.

The festival, supervised by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hassanin Ghani Al-Husseini, began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in remembrance of the martyrs, and then the national anthem of Iraq. Dr. Al-Zubaidi opened the event by welcoming the distinguished guests and highlighting the virtues of orphans and the community’s responsibility towards them. He also praised the timing of the festival, especially since it coincided with the birth of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

The festival featured the recitation of several stories about the heroes and martyrs of the Fatwa of Jihad Al-Kifayi and the Holy Popular Mobilization Forces, delivered by Sheikh Ali Al-Tai. Additionally, a theatrical performance was staged to honor the martyrs who gave their lives for the land and sacred values. The event also included several songs and chants in celebration of the birth of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

At the end of the festival, the orphans were honored by the Dean of the College. The event was attended by the University’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, the Dean of the Technical Institute in Najaf, Prof. Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, senior faculty members, staff from the university and the college, as well as a large number of employees and students.
