Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Organizes an Awareness Workshop on The Phenomenon of Drug Abuse
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi
The Women’s Affairs Division in the University Presidency, in coordination with the Kufa Technical Institute and in cooperation with the National Security Service and the Najaf Security Directorate, organized a workshop entitled “Reducing the Phenomenon of Drug Abuse“
The workshop, which was held in the conference hall for the institute’s students, aimed to shed light on the effects of drugs on society and the importance of concerted efforts to reduce the spread of this dangerous phenomenon.
It was attended by Colonel Dr. Karar Nazim Jawad Kazim, Colonel Zaid Wajih Marzah, Director of the Training and Development Department, and Lieutenant Colonel Hassanein Saleh Mahdi Al-Sa’bari, Director of Security of Najaf Universities.
They presented interventions on successful methods and programs in combating drugs, and experiences and best practices were exchanged between the participants to enhance cooperation between the various parties in combating this scourge.
The director of the Women’s Affairs Division at the university, Assist. Lect. Ikhlas Razzaq Nahham, the importance of awareness and education in confronting the phenomenon of drugs. She emphasized that the university is committed to its role in supporting such activities that contribute to protecting society and youth from the dangers of drugs.
The workshop concluded with recommendations from the participants to enhance cooperation between educational and security institutions and activate community awareness programs to combat the phenomenon of drugs.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented by the Dean of the Kufa Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Athir Kadhim Abadi, on behalf of the President of the University, in appreciation of the active participation in the workshop.
It is worth noting that the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University continues to educate its students about negative phenomena in society.
