University President Visits Islamic Republic of Iran and Holds Talks to Open Prospects for Joint Scientific Cooperation with Ferdowsi University of Mashhad
With the aim of opening up prospects for cooperation with academic and scientific institutions, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, visited Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the Islamic Republic of Iran. They were received by the President of Ferdowsi University, Dr. Abdul-Reza Jafari. He attended a meeting with the university’s senior staff, represented by the University President, Professor Abdul-Reza Jafari, the assistants, and a number of deans.
The two sides discussed activating a memorandum of understanding and strengthening prospects for joint scientific and cultural cooperation between the two universities in the field of joint scientific research and the exchange of expertise between faculty members, with the aim of advancing the scientific and educational reality in Iraqi universities. In his speech, Al-Zubaidi highlighted the importance of partnerships that enhance and consolidate the educational process, as well as other activities related to scientific research, capacity building, and the pursuit of quality performance to achieve academic and institutional accreditation, particularly between universities and governmental and private institutions with similar specializations. During the visit, Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation viewed models of laboratories and classrooms in the science departments of the College of Engineering and other specializations, as well as a visit to the university’s museum. He praised the efforts made to provide a safe and comfortable university environment for students and affiliates.
The University President was accompanied on his visit by the Scientific Assistant to the University President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadday, the Dean of the Diwaniyah Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Zaid Maan Hassan Al-Dulaimi, and a number of directors of the science departments at the University Presidency.
