This department was established alongside the founding of the university and was initially known as the Planning and Statistics Department. It was originally under the jurisdiction of the Administrative Assistant’s Office but later renamed the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, becoming part of the Scientific Assistant’s Office.

1- Supervising the preparation of academic plans and curriculum development for engineering, health, administrative, and agricultural disciplines in technical colleges and institutes.
2- Monitoring and managing e-learning platforms within the university’s formations.
3- Overseeing the establishment of academic departments and branches in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
4- Responding to the meeting minutes of college and institute councils regarding the department’s responsibilities.
5- Ensuring adherence to the academic calendar and monitoring teaching staff and technicians’ workloads while issuing relevant release orders.
6- Supervising summer training programs for students and preparing their annual reports.
7- Organizing academic and cultural collaboration through memoranda of understanding with universities and other institutions.
8- Managing the affairs of university employees enrolled in academic programs and issuing the necessary administrative orders for them.
9- Following up on the affairs of university students enrolled in morning and evening undergraduate studies (issuing no-objection orders to complete undergraduate studies, issuing university orders regarding study leave and following up on study situations).
10- Overseeing the preparation and publication of instructional and supplementary books.
11- Coordination with the Chemical, Biological and Hazardous Materials Control Division regarding the control of chemical and biological materials and monitoring of warehouses in the university’s colleges and institutes.
- Preparing the annual statistical reports for the university’s formations and submitting them to the Ministry.
- Managing statistical systems for human resources and student data within the ministry’s electronic portal.
- Developing the annual admission plan for undergraduate studies (morning and evening programs).
-Compiling unified statistical reports covering the university’s staff, students, infrastructure, and resources.
- Establishing comprehensive databases for conferences, seminars, buildings, laboratories, and libraries.
- Providing statistical data to the Ministry, government entities, and other university departments, as well as documenting the university’s academic and cultural activities.
