Psychological counseling and educational guidance at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University

The psychological counseling and educational guidance division at the University aspires to provide distinguished academic counseling services based on scientific foundations, provide training and guidance programs and orientation services, and achieve compatibility for all academically struggling students, the outstanding and talented, and those with special needs, and identify their potential and help them overcome everything that hinders their progress .

The division of psychological counseling and educational guidance at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is committed to providing training, counseling, academic, guidance and psychological counseling services, caring for academically outstanding students, as well as recognizing and caring for Individual Differences .

Objectives

The division aims to follow up and contain students ‘ problems and find appropriate solutions to them with the academic advisor and discuss unacceptable cases among students in order to address and highlight them through awareness raising, encouraging and highlighting individual initiatives, implementing annual programs in the field of caring for the outstanding and follow-up cases of delays and absences in addition to preventive programs, as well as participating in community activities.

Tasks

1-dealing with delays and idleness at work through meeting and finding out the reasons for these cases and dealing with them in the appropriate form and implementing the central instructions in case of their continuation.
2-openness at the level of local and Arab universities and the possibility of hosting lecturers specialized in human development to give lectures to teachers and students.
3-conducting preventive and therapeutic counseling programs for gifted and outstanding students with special needs .

Identification of stage guides according to the scientific departments at our university
Holding periodic meetings with students of the first and other stages at our university
Holding regular meetings with professors representing the stages in the Departments of the college via the Google meet program
Weekly meeting and follow-up with the professor and the officials of the guidance committees in all departments of the University in order to enhance communication methods with students and provide guidance
Coordination with professors and representatives of the guidance unit to solve the obstacles that reach the unit by students.
