The world of communicable diseases continues to present a challenge to the professionals who track and contain them. These diseases are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality around the world and remain an enigma to many.  Emerging and reemerging infectious diseases are also a growing threat.

 


Computer Application

 Is a computer program designed to perform a group of coordinated functions, tasks, or activities for the benefit of the user. The study of computer applications prepares students for a career in the field of computer applications and software development. It also can help students to become proficient with a specific application, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or Adobe Photoshop.


Vital statistics

 are statistics on live births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages and divorces. The most common way of collecting information on these events is through civil registration, an administrative system used by governments to record vital events which occur in their populations. Efforts to improve the quality of vital statistics will therefore be closely related to the development of civil registration systems in countries


Methodology

 is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study. It comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of knowledge. Typically, it encompasses concepts such as paradigm, theoretical model, phases and quantitative or qualitative techniques.

Chronic disease

A disease that persists for a long time. A chronic disease is one lasting 3 months or more, by the definition of the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics. Chronic diseases generally cannot be prevented by vaccines or cured by medication, nor do they just disappear.
