In implementation of the directives issued by the Office of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani regarding support for the activities of the “Baghdad, Arab Tourism Capital 2025” conference, the Department of Media and Government Communication at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a comprehensive media campaign across all its departments. This campaign reinforces the role of higher education in supporting national events with a cultural and civilizational dimension.

The university presidency directed all its departments (thirteen) in various governorates to engage with this national initiative by implementing media and awareness activities that highlight Baghdad’s historical and touristic significance and contribute to conveying a positive image of Iraq to the Arab and international community.

The departments implemented various programs, including the production of media materials, including digital designs, awareness videos, and short films highlighting the cultural heritage of Baghdad. Media coverage was also provided through official websites and social media platforms, reflecting a distinct and harmonious interaction with the event.

This step comes within the framework of the university’s deep belief in the importance of contributing to reshaping Iraq’s bright image and strengthening the concept of national identity among students and the academic community. It also supports the state’s efforts to revive the tourism sector, a key economic and cultural pillar.

The university affirmed its continued provision of institutional and media support for all national initiatives that reflect the true face of Iraqi civilization and contribute to raising community awareness. It noted that this media and awareness-raising effort is part of the integration between the higher education sector and state institutions to promote the values ​​of belonging and pride in the homeland.
