

In implementation of the Iraqi Women’s Strategic Plan and within the framework of the leadership empowerment pillar, the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in cooperation with the Technical Institute of Najaf, organized a specialized training course aimed at developing women’s leadership skills and enhancing their abilities in public speaking, debating, critical thinking, and team building.
The course was inaugurated in the presence of a number of female lecturers, staff members, and students. The Women’s Affairs Division emphasized that such programs align with the university’s vision to enhance women’s capacities and enable them to assume effective leadership roles within academic and community institutions.
The training program was delivered over four days and covered several key topics, including:
- Public Speaking and Presentation Skills (Online): Offered through an interactive virtual platform to expand participation, the training focused on building self-confidence, controlling vocal tone, and crafting impactful messages.
- The Art of Debate: Covering methods of constructing arguments, managing discussions, and presenting logical responses in dialogue settings.
- Critical Thinking: Providing participants with systematic analysis techniques, information evaluation skills, identification of fallacies, and sound decision-making strategies.
- Team Building: Focusing on cooperative leadership skills, task distribution, and motivating collective work to achieve shared goals.
The course received strong engagement from participants, who appreciated the practical exercises and hands-on activities that enhanced their confidence and strengthened their leadership capabilities.
