Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Participates in the “Abayati” Festival at the Holy Alawite Shrine
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, the university participated in the Fifth “Abayati” Festival, held as part of the Twelfth Annual Week of Chastity organized by the Holy Alawite Shrine, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her).
It is noteworthy that the Department of Student Activities at the University Presidency organized a delegation comprising a number of university staff members and more than 500 female students from various formations of the university. This participation was part of a broad engagement that included eight public and private universities in the Holy Governorate of Najaf.
The festival aims to promote Islamic values within society, particularly among female university students, through honoring them with the Fatimid abaya, which symbolizes chastity and authentic Islamic identity, and by reinforcing the principles of moral and behavioral commitment.
The festival activities witnessed remarkable interaction from the participating students, who expressed their happiness at taking part in this purposeful event that contributes to strengthening their connection with religious values and consolidating the principles of modesty and chastity.
The participating students also performed a visit to the Shrine of Imam Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him) from the rooftop of the courtyard of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), in a spiritual and faith-filled atmosphere.
