About the Department
The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University serves as the university’s window to the world and a bridge connecting it with global academic institutions. It enhances academic and cultural partnerships and develops programs for scientific and knowledge exchange. The department was established with the founding of the university in 2014, and it operates under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs. It plays a fundamental role in signing memoranda of understanding and partnership agreements with local and international universities. The department aims to support the university’s journey toward global recognition and excellence in research and education, in addition to promoting values of tolerance and cultural understanding.Vision
To make Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University a globally recognized leader in academic and cultural cooperation through the development of joint educational and research programs with international universities and institutions, and by enhancing its role as a scientific and cultural beacon contributing to a sustainable future for both local and global communities. Enhancing cooperation with global academic and research institutions to build strong relationships based on shared goals in education and research.

Facilitating exchange programs between the university’s students and faculty members and their counterparts at international universities, enabling an exchange of experiences and knowledge across diverse cultures.
3. Enhancing Academic and Research Competence
Supporting the dispatch of students and faculty members on advanced study and training missions to develop their skills and enhance their academic and research capabilities.
4. Encouraging Advanced Scientific Research
Creating a research environment that supports innovation and strengthens scientific capabilities through collaboration with international research institutions to develop solutions to global challenges.

The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations consists of several divisions and units that work to achieve its objectives and enhance its academic and cultural role, as follows:
2- Division of Students Studying Abroad:
Responsible for the affairs of students and staff studying outside Iraq, following up on their academic and administrative matters.
3- Division of Relations and Missions
Oversees academic and cultural relations and coordinates exchange programs and partnerships with international universities and institutions.
4- Units
- Erasmus Unit
Specialized in academic cooperation and student exchange programs under the Erasmus framework to enhance cultural and knowledge exchange.
- "Study in Iraq" Unit
Aims to attract international students to study in Iraq and supports higher education programs for incoming students.
