The IELTS Center at the Middle Euphrates Technical University was established as the first center of its kind in the region, recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is supervised by specialists from the British Council in collaboration with a trained team from the university. The center aims to achieve excellence in evaluating English language proficiency and provide the highest standards in test management to ensure fair and accurate assessment. An IELTS certificate opens new opportunities in education and work around the world, as many countries such as Canada and New Zealand require a certain level of English proficiency for employment. This is reflected in the IELTS Academic test, which assesses candidates’ readiness for higher education or academic training. IELTS is an international system for assessing English language skills for non-native speakers. It is widely used in universities and professional institutions in English-speaking countries such as the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA as part of admission or immigration requirements. The test measures listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, and lasts for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
