The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of the electronic application form for central admission to public universities for the “General” and “Martyrs’ Families” channels for the 2025/2026 academic year.

In this regard, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has specified the conditions and regulations for central admission. Applicants must be graduates of the current year and born in 2001 or later. Students from the Scientific branch are required to select 50 choices, covering at least ten different institutes; graduates of the Literary branch must select at least 25 choices from at least ten institutes; and graduates of the Arts branch must select 10 choices covering at least two institutes.

The Ministry emphasized that applications from first-round graduates, as well as those included in the second round, must be submitted electronically and free of charge through the Higher Education Application (HEPIQ) via the Qaddam platform at https://qr.mohesr.gov.iq, through the electronic portal of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at https://dirasat.mohesr.gov.iq, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research website. The application period will continue until Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The Ministry calls on graduates of the Distinguished Schools and Baghdad College (English language program) to apply through the General channel, as it serves as the unified form for both channels to ensure ease of application and university enrollment within the timelines of the academic calendar, while retaining all their privileges. Students from Martyrs’ Families are urged to visit the Martyrs’ Foundation and its affiliated directorates to verify their data.

Applicants can review the application steps and validate their choices by consulting the Student Guide at https://mohesr.gov.iq/ar/assets/img/uploaded_files/dalel_2025_22026.pdf to learn about the universities, colleges, departments, and institutes they are applying to according to their selections, based on their preferences and competition scores.
