The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, announced the admission of 185,416 students through the central admission channels in Iraqi universities for the 2025/2026 academic year.

During a press conference announcing the results of the central admission process, the Minister explained that the various admission channels collectively accepted 185,416 students, distributed across the General Channel, Direct Admission, the Martyrs’ Families category, the Elite category, and ten other channels designed for diverse student groups, notably including gifted students.

He added that the minimum admission thresholds for the medical group were set at 99.57 for Medicine, 98.67 for Dentistry, and 98.29 for Pharmacy. He noted that distinguished students occupied the full quota allocated to them, which is 15% of the admission plan for the medical group, with minimum scores for this category of 98.50 in Medicine, 96.96 in Dentistry, and 95.76 in Pharmacy.

Dr. Al-Aboudi directed all universities to commence the registration procedures for admitted students and instructed the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up to take the necessary measures regarding the digital objections portal. This portal is designated for students who did not receive an admission, those who did not apply through central admission, students with scores above 75% who were admitted to institutes, and high school graduates born in 1995 or later who achieved 90% or higher and had not previously applied to central admission.
