Under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the supervision of the Assistant to the President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, and in coordination between the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Presidency and Iranian universities to activate international memoranda of understanding and strengthen scientific cooperation, a delegation of librarians from the Presidency and the university’s formations, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Sahira Ayed Al-Moussawi, visited Amirkabir University in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The delegation was received with an official welcome by the university’s officials in an atmosphere that reflected the depth of academic relations and scientific openness between the two universities.

The delegation was welcomed by the Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Dr. Somayeh Akbari, along with the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Ashrafi, and a number of university staff. A welcoming session was held during which both universities and their academic and administrative structures were introduced.

The session included discussions on the mechanisms of university library operations, ways to develop information services, challenges in accessing modern information resources, and emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in areas such as the exchange of expertise, scientific resources, and the organization of joint workshops and scientific seminars.

As part of reinforcing cultural and scientific cooperation, Dr. Akbari presented a scholarly gift—a book of significant scientific and historical value—to the Central Library of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, symbolizing the depth of academic relations and Amirkabir University’s commitment to supporting scientific partnerships between the two institutions.

University officials also accompanied the delegation on a field tour of the Central Library, which included the reading halls, the electronic library, the theses and dissertations section, and the manuscripts hall. The tour further extended to the National Museum of Iran, which houses rare scientific and cultural artifacts reflecting the history of the university and Iranian civilization.

This visit comes within the framework of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s commitment to expanding academic and scientific cooperation with regional and international universities, contributing to the advancement of scientific research and the development of the academic environment and its educational and library services.
