Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the Student Activities Department organized the University Festival of Literary Arts at the Babylon Technical Institute, with wide participation from students of the university’s various formations, as part of its annual program for the second semester.
The festival included a variety of activities, such as a photography exhibition and cultural and artistic events featuring competitions in master of ceremonies, public speaking, oration, chanting, classical Arabic poetry, and photography, all of which showcased students’ remarkable creativity.
The event was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Najah Kadhim, Dean of Babylon Technical Institute; Professor Dr. Bashar Jabbar Hamza, Dean of the Higher Institute for Nanotechnology; Professor Dr. Fares Mohammed, Dean of the College of Medical Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Technologies; as well as a number of department directors, staff members of the Student Activities Department, and division heads across the university formations.
The festival also witnessed a positive competitive atmosphere that reflected the importance of literature and classical poetry in enhancing students’ cultural and artistic talents.
The university presidency affirmed that organizing this festival comes within the university’s vision to reinforce its role in supporting student activities alongside its educational mission, and to encourage students to engage in artistic and cultural events that contribute to building an effective and influential academic personality in society.

The Literary Arts Festival concluded in an atmosphere filled with vitality and positive interaction among attendees, accompanied by commemorative photographs documenting the moments of this distinguished cultural event. The festival thus represented a bright milestone reflecting Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s commitment to supporting creativity and student activities, and strengthening its position as a leading academic institution that combines scientific excellence with the nurturing of cultural talents.
