Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, the University Psychological Counseling Division organized a meeting for the officials of the Psychological Counseling Units across the university’s colleges and institutes to discuss the current status of counseling services and mechanisms for their development.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance counseling performance, strengthen field-based counseling activities, and improve communication mechanisms between the University Psychological Counseling Division and the counseling units. Discussions also focused on monitoring the implementation of counseling plans, activating the Mental Health Platform, and supporting awareness programs that address priority issues, particularly during the examination period.
Participants emphasized the importance of developing counseling communication strategies and utilizing electronic platforms and social media to raise awareness. They also highlighted the need to establish a comprehensive database documenting the achievements of the counseling units and to conduct field visits to evaluate performance and identify operational needs.
This workshop forms part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its psychological counseling system and provide a safe, supportive, and psychologically and socially healthy university environment for students.
