Department Tasks

The preparation of the university’s scientific research plan and the follow-up of its implementation and the changes that occur during the academic year are summarized through three periodic reports, along with preparing the annual achievement rates according to the university’s formations. The department also follows up on the preparation and implementation of the scientific and educational plans and the activities of the formations through three annual reports showing execution rates. Additionally, it works on developing the research capabilities of the university’s staff through holding courses and workshops for faculty members and postgraduate students, as well as following up on the scientific sabbatical for researchers inside Iraq according to current regulations. The department responds to correspondence from the Ministry’s Research and Development Directorate and prepares statistics and required reports on various research-related matters. It also responds to correspondence from the Federal Board of Supreme Audit regarding all research affairs. Furthermore, it circulates correspondence from the Research and Development Directorate and Iraqi universities regarding conferences, workshops, and other scientific activities, and unifies the responses of the university's formations. The department also unifies the responses of formations to correspondence from the Supervisory and Scientific Evaluation Authority and the Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations regarding scientific research matters. The department also attends to the libraries of all university formations by ensuring the activation of their activities through:

A- Providing internet services and adopting the Koha system.
B- Updating the infrastructure of libraries (preparing a reading room and a computer room).
C- Supporting libraries with modern publications.
D- Activating student activities through scientific competitions and book fairs.
E- Working to establish joint cooperation with scientific institutions to set up permanent exhibitions.
