Under the direction of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, the Electronic Computer Center at the Presidency of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a training workshop entitled “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence… Applications and Solutions with Future Visions” under the supervision of the Vice President of Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadday.
The Director of the Electronic Computer Center, Dr. Tamim Hamid Obeida, stated that the workshop included an introduction to the nature of artificial intelligence and the golden and dark periods of time it has gone throughout history. The course touched on the fourth industrial revolution represented by artificial intelligence, including an interactive video presentation that explains the scientific development in the field of medical diagnosis and self-driving cars.
The course dealt with the types of artificial intelligence, their main and sub-classifications, and their applications, in addition to a detailed explanation of the engineering of manual and automatic attributes in digital images and the role of artificial intelligence in them.
The course also covered the basics of building an artificial neural network (ANN) model, the composition and architecture of convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and an explanation of the training method in these networks, with an interactive video showing how these networks work, in addition to addressing generative artificial intelligence and its applications and the software tools used in developing and building artificial intelligence models.
It is noteworthy that the course was lectured by Mr. Mahdi Muhammad Amin Abdul Mohsen and Ms. Hanin Hamza Alwan.
A number of members and students from the university’s formations participated in this workshop.
