Assist. Lect. Azhar Kazim Al-Awadi, from the Najaf Technical Institute at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a specialized seminar titled “The Bermuda Triangle in the Holy Quran.” The seminar was held in the Scientific Complex Hall to study “The Bermuda Triangle: Between Fact and Fiction.” The aim was to provide a scientific and Quranic analysis of the Bermuda Triangle and discuss intellectual perspectives related to mysterious phenomena that continue to be the subject of research and study in scientific circles. The session addressed the role of critical thinking in analyzing modern natural phenomena, with a focus on the interaction between scientific perspectives and religious interpretations in understanding unexplained phenomena. The session witnessed open discussions among students, where many questions were raised about the nature of the Bermuda Triangle and the possibility of explaining it scientifically and from the Quran. In this context, she emphasized the importance of scientific research in studying natural phenomena, emphasizing the need to enhance critical thinking and research among students through specialized academic courses. For his part, the Dean of the Institute, Professor Haider Al-Abdali, praised the efforts made to hold such qualitative seminars, emphasizing the importance of scientific research in the study of natural phenomena and the need to enhance critical thinking among students. He commended the students’ interaction and active participation in understanding the meanings and verses of the Holy Quran, noting that developing their research skills is a fundamental pillar in building creative academic generations. The seminar concluded by emphasizing the importance of integrating religious sciences with modern scientific studies to encourage critical thinking among students and broaden their cognitive horizons. The seminar recommended organizing more such events to enhance scientific research and develop students’ abilities to analyze complex phenomena.
