A delegation from the Government Media and Communications Department in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, headed by the Director of Media and Government Communications, Mr. Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, and in the presence of the Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate branch in the governorate, Mr. Iyad Al-Jubouri, Director of Government Media and Communications Mr. Nihad Al-Rubaie, and a number of media department heads from government institutions, visited the headquarters of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate in Baghdad, where the delegation met with the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and the President of the Federation of Arab Journalists, Mr. Moayad Al-Lami.
The visit came as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude to the syndicate for its continuous support to the journalistic and media community in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf and to explore ways of strengthening mutual cooperation to enhance the development of governmental media work.
During the meeting, Mr. Moayad Al-Lami praised the role of Najaf’s media in documenting and reporting the achievements of government institutions. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, steering clear of political defamation, and refraining from publishing unsubstantiated content. Al-Lami highlighted the significant role of government media in documenting and disseminating the accomplishments of both the central and local governments. He also commended the noticeable progress in Najaf’s media, especially the government sector, in effectively conveying the activities of public institutions to Iraqi citizens with positivity and impartiality.
In turn, Mr. Al-Fatlawi conveyed the extent of cooperation provided by the local government—both legislative and executive branches—particularly the significant support of the Governor of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Engineer Youssef Maki Ganawi, to the journalistic community in the province, and the facilitation of all procedures to overcome obstacles facing media professionals in general.
At the end of the visit, the Director of Government Media and Official Spokesperson for Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate, Mr. Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, presented the Shield of Excellence and Creativity to the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate in honor of his outstanding efforts in supporting journalists and easing the challenges facing their professional mission, whether in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf or across the Iraqi provinces.
