As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its academic role and expand cooperation with education and training institutions, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University participated with an official delegation in a workshop dedicated to the Blended Learning Project, which saw wide attendance from representatives of technical universities and other relevant stakeholders.

The university was represented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Awad Kurdi, Head of the Academic Promotions Division; Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Hussein Mohammed, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division; and Lecturer Assistant Ikhlas Razzaq Nahham, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division.

The workshop was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the technical universities, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as well as delegates from private sector companies.

The event featured a detailed presentation on the concept of blended learning and the key challenges facing its implementation within educational institutions. The sessions included in-depth discussions on the issues raised and proposed practical solutions, with the resulting recommendations to be incorporated into a guidance manual currently being developed to support blended learning policy implementation across Iraqi universities.

This active participation reaffirms Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s commitment to keeping pace with modern advancements in educational methods and to enhancing the expertise of its academic staff. These efforts contribute to improving the quality of education and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the higher education sector.
