Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University marked a distinguished participation in the 19th edition of the Gulf Education Exhibition, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 9 to 10, 2026. The event witnessed broad participation from Arab and international educational institutions, with notable representation from Iraqi governmental and technical universities.

The University was represented by the Scientific Assistant to the President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, accompanied by the Deans of the Technical Institute of Kufa and the Higher Institute of Nanotechnology. The delegation participated in introductory meetings and panel discussions that focused on the future of technical and applied education and its role in meeting regional and international labor market demands.

The University’s pavilion attracted significant attention from visitors and academic stakeholders, featuring comprehensive presentations on technical, engineering, administrative, and health-related programs, as well as a wide range of other scientific disciplines offered by the University. The pavilion also highlighted accredited educational programs, admission procedures, study systems, and the educational and logistical services provided to students, particularly international students.

The delegation emphasized the University’s advanced capabilities in applied education, scientific research, and nanotechnology, highlighting the role of these disciplines in supporting sustainable development and preparing qualified technical personnel capable of keeping pace with modern scientific advancements.

The “Study in Iraq” initiative drew particular interest from pavilion visitors, showcasing its objectives, implementation mechanisms in technical universities, and its impact on enhancing Iraq’s presence in higher education and attracting students from various countries, thereby presenting a positive image of the Iraqi academic environment.

In this context, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai stated that the University’s participation in the Gulf Education Exhibition represents a strategic step toward international academic engagement, fostering effective scientific partnerships with regional and global universities and educational institutions, as well as promoting academic exchange programs and the development of joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The University Presidency emphasized that participation in international educational exhibitions is a cornerstone of its strategy to expand scientific collaboration, showcase the University’s academic and technological achievements, and continue supporting initiatives that enhance education quality, develop infrastructure, and create an advanced university environment that meets the aspirations of students in Iraq and abroad.
