As part of its ongoing training program, consisting of multiple consecutive courses with diverse content and objectives for academic staff, the Center for Continuing Education at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University concluded its first course entitled “Academic Skills Development.”
The course aimed to enhance the expertise of university instructors across all its formations, which has become a key requirement for assuming administrative positions and teaching postgraduate students.
The course lasted for one week and concluded last Thursday with an in-person assessment held in the Center’s classrooms.
The curriculum covered several core topics, including modern teaching methods, educational process management, and the development of the university lecturer’s professional persona as a source of inspiration for students. It also included interactive techniques designed to foster critical thinking and active classroom participation.
The primary goal of the course was to support professional development for instructors and improve the quality of university education, moving beyond traditional teaching methods.
According to a survey completed by participants, the training topics were considered highly valuable, particularly for academic staff, confirming the significant benefit of the program.
It is noteworthy that the Center will continue offering this course in the coming weeks, and registration remains open for all interested participants.
