From the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the activities of the First International Scientific Conference, titled “Engineering and Science for Sustainable Development Goals 2026,” were launched under the patronage of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research in both the Federal Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The conference is organized by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University under the supervision of its President, Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The university’s participation included Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Najaf Engineering Technical College, and Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute, in collaboration with Erbil Polytechnic University. The conference is being held at Shaqlawa Technical College.
