As part of its academic openness and efforts to strengthen cooperation with international health institutions, the President of جامعة الفرات الأوسط التقنية, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, received an Italian delegation that included Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Hamidawi, Head of the Pediatrics Department at the Italian San Donato Company operating Al-Najaf Teaching Hospital; Dr. Hanan Al-Rumahi, Director of Al-Najaf Teaching Hospital; Dr. Huda Al-Rumahi, Ethics Officer at the Najaf Health Directorate; and medical coordinator Ms. Athbah Shakir. The meeting aimed to explore avenues of joint cooperation in supporting and rehabilitating individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
The meeting included discussions on prospects for scientific and medical cooperation to establish a specialized autism center in accordance with European standards, contributing to the development of rehabilitative and educational services provided to this group, and benefiting from international expertise in this field.
The delegation also conducted a visit to the university’s Autism Department, where they reviewed the nature of the academic curricula and the operational mechanisms within the department. They also met with the Deanship of the Technical Institute / Kufa and the department head, and were introduced to the available scientific and specialized capabilities.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint cooperation to advance the project of establishing the center, in a way that enhances scientific and humanitarian efforts in the care and rehabilitation of individuals with autism spectrum disorder according to modern and specialized standards.
