The Board of Directors of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its ninth session for the 2025–2026 academic year at the Technical Institute/Kufa, under the chairmanship of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Kazem Al-Zubaidi, with the attendance of all council members and the participation of several directors of relevant departments.

The session commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Assistant Lecturer Muin Al-Rubaie, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in honor of all martyrs.

During the meeting, the University President reviewed the directives issued by His Excellency the Minister during the most recent Opinion Authority meeting and instructed the deans to implement them accordingly. These directives emphasized the necessity of monitoring students’ daily attendance and attendance rates, adopting the principle of compensating for days lost due to emergency suspension of official working hours, as well as completing the readiness requirements related to electronic systems and digital transformation, including uploading faculty data and lectures to the approved platforms.

The directives also stressed adherence to the policy guidelines governing the use of artificial intelligence tools in scientific research, in a manner that promotes the responsible use of such technologies while preserving academic integrity and the quality of research outputs. In addition, the directives called for completing the procedures required to establish an administrative unit responsible for managing digital transformation systems within the university formations.

Furthermore, the University President emphasized the importance of:

  • Providing the necessary requirements and services for final examinations in order to create a suitable environment for students and contribute to the success of the examination process.

  • Following up on reconstruction projects and the rehabilitation of infrastructure in accordance with approved specifications.

  • Supporting capacity-building programs for academic and administrative staff through developmental and training courses.

  • Giving due attention to student affairs and facilitating administrative procedures related to students.

  • Strengthening discipline within the university campus and ensuring compliance with university regulations and instructions.

  • Reviewing supervisory observations and reports and responding to them within the specified timeframes.

The session also witnessed the presentation and discussion of several academic, administrative, and student-related matters included on the agenda, with the necessary recommendations and decisions being adopted in a manner that contributes to strengthening institutional performance and advancing the quality of technical education.
