Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Organizes a Specialized Workshop on University Performance Evaluation
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement and enhance institutional performance, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a specialized workshop on university performance evaluation.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the direct supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadai. It was organized by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, with the participation of officials from relevant divisions and units at the university presidency and its affiliated institutions.
The workshop featured presentations by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Awwad Al-Abadi, Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hammam Munim Saleh, Director of the Performance Evaluation Division.
The workshop addressed several key topics, focusing on mechanisms for evaluating university performance in accordance with approved ministerial standards, academic and administrative performance indicators, and procedures for documenting and submitting data electronically. Participants also discussed the main observations and challenges encountered in the evaluation process across the university’s affiliated institutions, along with potential solutions to ensure data accuracy and objective assessment.
During the workshop, the lecturers emphasized that performance evaluation serves as a strategic tool for assessing institutional progress and implementing corrective measures. They highlighted the importance of applying quality standards and continuous improvement principles when evaluating the performance of academic staff, employees, and university institutions. Such measures contribute to enhancing institutional efficiency, advancing the university’s objectives and strategic plans, and ensuring alignment with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and national academic accreditation standards.
This workshop forms part of a series of specialized activities organized by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance to promote a culture of quality, develop institutional performance, strengthen the capabilities of academic and administrative staff in performance evaluation, and improve the university’s overall educational and institutional outcomes.
