Under the direct guidance of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the auspices of the Holy Alawite Shrine, the Women’s Affairs Division at the Presidency of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a celebratory festival marking the birth anniversary of Lady Zaynab Al-Kubra (peace be upon her), the revered daughter of Imam Ali and a distinguished lady of Banu Hashim.

The festival was held in Al-Mutanabbi Hall at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Media Department and the Women’s Unit of the Holy Alawite Shrine, as well as the Women’s Affairs Unit at Kufa Polytechnic College. Female students from Kufa Polytechnic College participated in and attended the event.

The festival aimed to transform the blessed birth anniversary into a contemporary cultural and educational message inspired by the life of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her). It highlighted enduring values of faith, morality, modesty, patience, courage, and self-confidence, connecting these principles to the realities of female university students and the challenges they face in their lives today.

The festival commenced with a beautiful recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by an address delivered by the representative of the Holy Alawite Shrine. The address highlighted the esteemed status of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) and the steadfastness, faith, and courage she demonstrated in confronting adversity.

The Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, Assistant Lecturer Ikhlas Razzaq Naham, also delivered the university’s address. She emphasized that commemorating Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) should extend beyond celebrating the occasion and become a practical lesson in shaping women’s character. She explained that modesty does not mean weakness, strength does not mean harshness, and self-confidence does not mean abandoning moral values. Rather, these values complement one another to shape a conscious woman who recognizes her worth, preserves her dignity, and faces challenges with determination and steadfastness.

The festival featured a diverse programme combining faith, culture, art, and audience engagement. Activities included religious chants, a video presentation, an open question-and-answer session with female students, and a choral performance reflecting the significance and message of the occasion. The programme also featured the “Number and Message” competition, which provided students with an opportunity to interact, participate, and share messages and values inspired by the life of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

At the conclusion of the festival, the representative of the Holy Alawite Shrine honoured the Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, Assistant Lecturer Ikhlas Razzaq Naham, in recognition of her efforts in organizing the festival, strengthening cooperation and communication between the university and the Shrine, and supporting cultural and awareness-raising initiatives aimed at women and female university students.

On this occasion, Ms. Ikhlas Razzaq Naham expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi; the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Muhsin; and the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadi, in recognition of their support and assistance in organizing the festival. She also extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to the Holy Alawite Shrine, its Media Department, and its Women’s Unit for their cooperation, which contributed to the success of the event.
