The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, met with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hassani, along with a number of university presidents, to extend their congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of his assumption of office.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of consolidating university autonomy and empowering universities to fulfill their academic and scientific missions while adhering to institutional standards and academic rigor, thereby strengthening their standing within the higher education and scientific research system.
The Minister of Higher Education also stressed the need to develop academic programs and specializations, improve the quality of educational and research outcomes, and align them with national development priorities and labor market needs. He further highlighted the importance of raising quality standards in university performance and providing a stimulating academic environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and knowledge production.
