The Minister of Higher Education Approves Allowing Graduates of Vocational Preparatory Schools to Apply for Evening Study Programmes
His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hassani, has approved allowing graduates of all branches and specialisations of vocational preparatory schools to apply for evening study programmes at public universities, within academic specialisations corresponding to their respective fields of study. Admission will be allocated at a rate of (10%) of the admission quota for the corresponding department under both the General Admission and Martyrs’ Families admission channels.
The Ministry of Higher Education clarified that the decision stipulates the adoption of the scientific branch grade averages (Biological and Applied) for application purposes. It also provides applicants with the benefit of rounding up fractional marks in their favour. Furthermore, universities have been authorised to reduce the minimum admission grade requirements by up to three marks, in accordance with the approved admission regulations.
The Ministry also announced the extension of the application period for evening study programmes under both the General Admission and Martyrs’ Families channels until Tuesday, 10 November 2026, to provide prospective students with an additional opportunity to complete their admission procedures.
