As part of scientific and technical cooperation between technical universities and their counterparts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Duhok Polytechnic University, in cooperation with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Polytechnic University, launched a Training of Trainers (T.O.T.) course in the seminar hall at the university’s presidency.
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, who emphasized in her speech the importance of this course in developing the skills of teaching and administrative staff. She noted that continuous training is one of the fundamental pillars of improving academic and administrative performance and keeping pace with global developments in higher education.
Mr. Ali Al-Dhalimi, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Polytechnic University, explained that the course lasted four days and was supervised and presented by international trainer Aqeel Al-Athari, one of the most prominent experts in the field of human resource development and trainer preparation. During the course, he addressed a number of topics related to modern training methods, public speaking and presentation skills, and effective communication, as well as the preparation of training packages according to professional standards.
In his speech, Al-Adhari explained that the course’s goal is to prepare participants to become professional trainers capable of transferring knowledge and honing skills within their institutions. He emphasized that training has become a fundamental pillar in capacity development and improving institutional efficiency.
This initiative falls within the two universities’ efforts to enhance academic and technical cooperation and exchange expertise in the field of human capacity development, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s plans to enhance the skills of university staff.
