As part of its continuous efforts to empower women and reinforce their role in society and coinciding with the launch of the campaign of 16 days of violence against women, the Women’s Affairs Division at the university’s presidency organized a workshop. The event targeted the heads of women’s affairs units across the university’s colleges and institutes, aiming to discuss organizational preparations for the campaign, exchange experiences, and provide guidance on raising awareness among students and staff while offering support to women.
The workshop was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadday, and he emphasized in his opening speech, conveyed the full support of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, for the activities of the Women’s Affairs Division. He underscored the importance of collective efforts to achieve the goals of the university’s strategic plan dedicated to Iraqi women.
Dr. Wadday also emphasized the diversity of activities and the need to engage key groups, including female students, staff, and academics, in designing innovative programs and methodologies to ensure success.
The workshop agenda included discussions on the strategic plan for Iraqi women, which aims to enhance women’s rights and promote gender equality.Asst. Lect. Ikhlas Razzaq Naham, Director of the Women’s Affairs Division, expressed her gratitude to the attendees for their active participation. She highlighted the importance of the workshop in fostering direct and effective communication, which contributes to improving collaboration and achieving common objectives.
The session concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants to share their opinions, identify their needs, and address any challenges to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign’s goals.
