Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadday, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held a meeting to evaluate the graduate empowerment courses designed to enhance employability and facilitate integration into the labor market. These training courses were conducted in collaboration with the Najaf Chamber of Industry and included five rounds throughout the year 2024.
The meeting addressed feedback received from participating graduates, including those who secured employment in industrial facilities affiliated with the Najaf Chamber of Industry following their successful completion of the training programs. Additional evaluations provided by company owners and employers were also reviewed.
Discussions focused on enhancing course content, selecting qualified trainers, applying effective training methods, and increasing participant engagement. Furthermore, it was proposed that new modules be incorporated into the curriculum, particularly those covering legal frameworks that govern employer-employee relations, including rights and obligations, to ensure graduates gain a thorough understanding of private sector work environments.
The meeting concluded with a consensus to launch the sixth round of training courses, with an official announcement scheduled for May.
Attendees included Assistant Professor Dr. Durgam Hassan Al-Abdali, Dean of the Technical Administrative College in Kufa; Mr. Ali Al-Saabri, Advisor to the Iraqi Federation of Industries representing the Najaf Chamber of Industry; Mr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Dhalemi, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at the university presidency; as well as a group of faculty members, previous course instructors, and officials from the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit and the Women’s Affairs Unit.
