The University Council
The University Council Secretariat is one of the important and sensitive divisions in the university. It is responsible for obtaining approval on matters that fall outside the authority of the University President, whether they fall under the powers of the University Council or the Ministry, and it is administratively and directly linked to the University President.
- Preparing items related to the University Council based on the University President's directives and the minutes of colleges and institutes that fall under the Council's authority.
- Including proposals submitted by university formations or departments in the University Council agenda.
- Completing the minutes of the University Council and sending them to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Opinion Authority) for the Minister's approval.
- Sending copies of the minutes to all university formations and Council members.
- Sending copies of the University Council minutes to all Iraqi universities.
- After the Minister's approval of the items, the University Council Secretariat informs the college and institute formations and presidential departments of the responses from the Opinion Authority and concerned entities.
- Approving the minutes of all college and institute councils that fall under the University's authority.
- Issuing university orders for assigning assistants to deans and heads of scientific departments in all formations according to the selection forms.
- Counting nomination forms and required priorities for dean nominations and submitting them to the Ministry.
- Including proposals submitted by university formations or departments in the University Council agenda.
