As part of the ongoing and effective collaboration between Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the Tawasul Project team, and in recognition of the growing importance of environmental issues and their direct impact on shaping the jobs of the future, a specialized coordination meeting was held at the University to discuss the action plan of the University’s Environment and Climate Change Representatives within its Science and Technology Parks. The meeting also explored ways to integrate these vital concepts into the core of technical education and training.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, was attended by the University’s Environment Representatives, Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali and Dr. Nabil Qattan Lawi, along with the Tawasul Project’s Environment Representative, Ms. Mina Jassim. The participants exchanged ideas, coordinated joint efforts, and discussed the development of clear mechanisms and practical measures to incorporate environmental concepts and climate change issues into future collaborative action plans, in alignment with global trends toward the green transition.

Discussions focused on designing and developing high-quality educational and training programs that enhance students’ and graduates’ awareness of pressing environmental challenges while equipping them with the green skills demanded by today’s labor market. The meeting also reviewed ways to integrate these initiatives into the services provided by the University’s Science and Technology Parks Department, enabling beneficiaries to develop innovative environmental solutions that address contemporary challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized that integrating environmental and climate change dimensions into technical training extends beyond theoretical knowledge and awareness-raising. It has become a fundamental pillar for creating new opportunities that enhance employment prospects and entrepreneurship for students and graduates within the sustainable economy. They also stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination to further develop youth-oriented services and ensure their alignment with sustainable development objectives.
