With the aim of activating international memoranda of understanding and enhancing scientific cooperation, and under the direction of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, and in coordination between the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Presidency and Iranian universities, a delegation of librarians from the Presidency and formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Sahira Ayed Al-Moussawi, paid a visit to Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The delegation was received by the President of Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University, Dr. Shams Hirzad, the Head of International Relations, Dr. Ali Salahi Nejad, in addition to the officials of the Central Library and a number of academic staff members.

The visit included the holding of an official meeting during which both universities and their academic disciplines were introduced. A documentary film was also presented highlighting the vision, mission, and values of Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University, with emphasis on its scientific achievements and the role of its libraries in supporting the educational and research process. In turn, the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Sahira Al-Moussawi, delivered an overview of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, shedding light on its most prominent scientific achievements and its continuous advancement in international university rankings.

During the visit, the delegation toured the sections of the Central Library and college libraries, reviewing cataloging and borrowing mechanisms, available print and electronic resources, as well as the electronic systems adopted in managing library affairs and serving researchers.

The visit also featured in-depth discussions on prospects for joint cooperation between the two universities, including the exchange of expertise and scientific resources, the possibility of organizing joint workshops and scientific conferences, in addition to proposals for establishing a joint research platform and a shared scientific journal to serve researchers from both institutions.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President of Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University presented a commemorative gift to the head of the delegation, reflecting the depth of academic relations and the commitment of both universities to strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation in a manner that contributes to the development of scientific research and the advancement of academic institutions.
