A delegation from the Department of Construction and Projects at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University with the aim of reviewing the projects of the investment plan, regional development, and projects of Higher Education Fund.
The University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, welcomed the ministerial delegation tasked with following up on the reconstruction projects at the university, in the presence of the University President’s Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Mohsen Al-Machtoomi, and members of the Construction and Projects Department at the University Presidency.
In his speech, Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the reconstruction campaign included all the educational institutions of the university in five governorates within the geographical area of the university. The ministerial delegation, during the meeting with the Construction and Projects Department staff, reviewed the ongoing projects of the university.
During the meeting, the investment plan projects and the completion of the projects that were transferred from the Technical Education Authority to the Presidency of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University were also discussed. The projects included (departments completion in the Technical Institute of Al-Samawah, professors’ residence completion in the Technical Institute of Babylon, and study halls completion in the Technical Institute of Babylon).
All the Construction and Projects Department requirements in the University Presidency were discussed for the purpose of transferring the financial allocations for these projects from the Ministry of Planning to complete them. Next, the students’ dormitory project in the Technical Institute of Karbala was discussed, where the project completion was 97%, while the students’ dormitory project in the Technical Administrative College of Kufa has arrived the completion. The discussion also included projects related to the regional development, students’ dormitory project in the Technical Institute of Babylon, and projects implemented by the revenues of the Higher Education Fund in the University Presidency and its educational institutions.
The field inspection carried out by accompanying the Ministerial Committee to the buildings completed by the University Presidency (the Student Club Building, the Birth Tower, the Grand Celebration Square, the dormitory building in the Administrative Technical College of Kufa, and the Community Health and Professional Analytics Building implemented by the University Presidency in the Technical Institute of Kufa).
During this field tour, the ministerial delegation praised the completion of the projects and the study halls, as well as the university’s efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development with the aim of providing a model university environment for students and staff.
