Academic Staff Affairs Division
The division seeks to unify efforts by processing transactions related to university teaching staff (transfer, assignment, administrative appointments and dismissals, granting academic titles, issuing endorsements, etc.) with precision and within a record time, achieving the advancement of the university. It performs multiple tasks, including:
- Issuing university orders for dismissals and assignments after obtaining the necessary approvals.
- Issuing letters of thanks and appreciation to the teaching staff.
- Issuing orders for terminating teaching staff service according to the provisions of Civil Service Law No. 24 of 196.
- Receiving requests from teaching staff wishing to take leave of various types in accordance with relevant laws and decisions, verifying eligibility for each type, and then issuing the corresponding university orders.
- Issuing university orders to implement the recommendations of auditing committees.
- Issuing circulars containing ministerial and university directives.
- Granting required allowances according to applicable laws.
- Providing the Employment and Staffing Division (Transfers) with the start and end dates of teaching staff after leave.
- Preparing letters of joining and separation for teaching staff inside and outside Iraq.
- Issuing promotion orders for deceased staff based on death certificates issued by the Ministry of Health and all its official departments.
- Issuing orders for teaching staff to work outside official working hours.
- Issuing orders for part-time leave and study leave.
- Granting the title of 'Distinguished Professor' to university professors upon retirement.
- Seconding teaching staff to work in private colleges and universities according to applicable regulations and instructions.
- Monitoring the tenure of heads of branches and academic departments according to regulations.
- Monitoring the issuance of dismissal and assignment orders for vice deans and heads of divisions and units among the teaching staff in university centers and departments.
- Monitoring the tenure of department or branch heads in the university's colleges according to Article 4 of the Instructions for Selecting Heads of Academic Departments in Iraqi Universities No. 43 of 199.
- Issuing university orders for granting academic titles (Assistant Lecturer) and (Lecturer) based on the holders' master's and doctoral degrees.
- Issuing university orders for dismissals and assignments after obtaining the necessary approvals.
- Issuing letters of thanks and appreciation to the teaching staff.
