On March 8, they celebrated International Women’s Day in the institute’s conference hall in the presence of Mr. Zuhair al-Shaalan, Governor of Diwaniyah, the Deanship of the Institute, Diwaniyah Technical Institute/Empowerment Women’s Unit, and in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Technologies. Many literary and cultural activities were held during the celebration, as well as a meaningful student theatrical performance advocating for the importance of completely integrating Iraqi women into society and guaranteeing them all rights in education and work in all disciplines. And, on his first visit to the institute, the Governor inspected the scientific departments, workshops, and labs, expressing his love for this Diwani scientific edifice. The Governor emphasized his willingness to assist in the execution of development initiatives aimed at improving the university environment in order to better serve the students of Diwaniyah.
