Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University continues its active participation in scouting events and various ministerial activities, as part of its ongoing support for developing leadership capacities and enhancing student activity programs.
The University’s participation was under the patronage of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Mohsen Al-Mujtomi. Ms. Fawziya Abbas Zgheer, Head of the Scouting Activities Division within the Department of Student Activities, represented the University at the First Dialogue Forum for Wood Badge Holders in Iraqi Universities.
The forum was organized by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority / Department of Student Activities / Scouting Division at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, hosted by Al-Bayan Private University from February 16–17, 2026, with wide participation from representatives of Iraqi universities.
The forum provided an effective platform for constructive dialogue and the exchange of experiences in university scouting, promoting the development of scouting leadership skills and elevating the quality of student activities. It also fostered cooperation and integration between public and private universities. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Ministry and Iraqi universities—led by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University—to instill a culture of scouting and to channel students’ energies toward creativity and excellence.
