Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, and in the presence of the Vice Minister for Scientific affairs Undersecretary of the Ministry, Prof. Dr. Yassin Al-Ithawi, a new scientific departments building was inaugurated at the College of Health and Medical Technologies in Kufa site in a festive ceremony attended by the chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhry and His Excellency Dr. Liqa Al-Yassin, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, as well as several other Iraqi university chancellors, vice-chancellors, deans of scientific facilities, and the advisor to the governor of Najaf for higher education affairs.
Representative of His Excellency the Minister, Prof. Dr. Yassin Al-Ithawi, valued the efforts made to complete the project and praised the clear progress Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU) towards renovation and construction projects and the rehabilitation of the university infrastructure.
Al-Zuhairy indicated that the project had been accomplished by engineers and technical staff of the Department of Construction and Projects at the Presidency, in cooperation with their companions at the College of Health and Medical Technologies. Al-Zuhairy also indicated that this project would contribute to consolidating the educational process and raising the level of outcomes to meet the labor market requirements, especially since the halls and laboratories have been equipped with the latest equipment and supplies necessary to secure high-quality education and training.
On the other hand, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Angham Jassim Al-Ramahi, thanked and appreciated all the support from the chancellery to bring such a project to completion level.
The Director of the Construction and Projects Department at the University Presidency, Dr. Muhannad Al-Khaqani, explained that the new building includes many modern classrooms, laboratories, offices, and spaces. The building area of approximately six thousand square meters is distributed over three floors and yards, gardens, sidewalks, and rest stations for students surrounding the building.
