The Presidency of ALFurat ALAwsat Technical University, within the activities of the Women’s Empowerment Unit, held a ceremony on the occasion of International Women’s Day on the eighth of March of each year. Mr. President of the University Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy in his speech congratulated everyone on this occasion, pointing out that women represent the main link in the formation of the family and that form the nucleus for building society.
In his speech, Al-Zuhairiy cited the titles and names of women who had a great impact on the renaissance of nations, both in the early days of Islam and the eras that followed and also in our contemporary history, they became role models for all women of the world with the sacrifices they made, which history wrote with letters of light. Al-Zuhairiy concluded his speech by saying that women are the mainstay of society. On the other hand, the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Prof. Dr. Angham Jassim Al-Ramahy, gave a speech on the occasion in which she referred to the importance of women and their great role in building society and thanked the President of the University for his continuous support for the activities of empowering women.
The ceremony included a theatrical performance directed and represented by the students of the Diwaniyah Technical Institute.
While the ceremony concluded with honoring the official of the Women’s Empowerment Unit, Mrs. Zainab Hussein, and the officials of the Women’s Empowerment Units in the university’s institutions with certificates of appreciation. The ceremony was attended by the vice president for Administrative, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Majtoumy, several deans of university institutions directors of departments and staff.
