Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the Student Activities Department concluded the year 2025 by organizing a charitable festival that embodied the spirit of generosity and social responsibility, with wide participation from university staff and students.
The festival featured a variety of activities, including a charitable bazaar as well as cultural and artistic events that reflected students’ creativity and humanitarian initiatives. The proceeds of the festival were allocated to supporting cancer patients, in reinforcement of the values of social solidarity and the promotion of humanitarian initiatives.
The University President was accompanied by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Majtumi, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Bashar Jabbar Hamza, Dean of the Higher Institute of Nanotechnology, along with a number of university department directors.
The festival also included the organization of a student sports marathon held within the university campus, conducted in a positive and competitive atmosphere that highlighted the importance of sports in promoting physical health and sportsmanship.
The marathon concluded with honoring the winning students in appreciation of their efforts and as encouragement to continue engaging in sports activities.
The organizers of the festival emphasized that holding such events aligns with the university’s vision of strengthening its societal role alongside its educational mission, and of encouraging students to engage in volunteer, sports, and humanitarian activities that contribute to building an active and influential university personality within society.
It is noteworthy that during 2025, the Student Activities Department organized numerous sports, artistic, scouting, volunteer, and social events that contributed to developing students’ skills, enhancing initiative and teamwork, and fostering a culture of creativity and active participation within the university campus.
The festival witnessed a positive atmosphere and remarkable interaction from attendees, serving as a fitting conclusion to a year rich in scientific achievements and student activities that further reinforced the position of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University as a leading educational institution that combines academic excellence with community service.
