ALFurat ALAwsat Technical University held its third edition of the International Scientific Conference on Medical and Biological Technologies in partnership with Duhok Technical University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in the Duhok Governorate and for the period 8-9 March 2023.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of ALFurat ALAwsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, and the President of Duhok Technical University, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the region, Dr. Aram Muhammad Qadir, and several professors and researchers From Iraqi universities in the center and the region, as well as electronic attendance via live broadcast for several researchers and affiliates of university institutions. Al-Zuhairy gave a speech in which he referred to the importance of scientific research especially in developing the health and medical sector and overcoming the crises that are plaguing the world in general and Iraq in particular as this conference comes to address a set of challenges, Al-Zuhairy also pointed out that the university has achieved a qualitative leap in various joints of performance, foremost of which is the movement of scientific research, where the number of published research in Scopus container there are about two thousand searches.
The university also adopts in its policy the encouragement of researchers, which contributed to the university’s entry into several international classifications considered and advanced positions, also stressed that the university encourages scientific, technical, medical and applied research, which deals with real problems hoping that these conferences and workshops will be a good start to build real partnerships between the two universities and to serve the educational process.
At the end of his speech, the President of the University appreciated all the preparatory, scientific and media committees.
It is noteworthy that the themes of the conference included medical laboratory techniques, community health techniques, nursing techniques, pharmaceutical and therapeutic techniques, and diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
While a documentary film about the university was screened that dealt with the most prominent activities and initiatives recently accomplished by the university in the construction field and the comprehensive reconstruction campaign witnessed by the university in addition to showing a film about Duhok Technical University.
The opening session also included the presentation of working papers by keynote speakers from Sweden and Duhok Technical University and Iraqi universities in the center and the region.
At the end of the activities of the first day of the conference, the President of the University expressed his appreciation to all professors, researchers and study students.
In the same context, Al-Zuhairy presented the university’s shield to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, President of Duhok Technical University, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, and a representative of the Southern Technical University, Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, Dean of the College of Technology Basra and the representative of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Fawaz Fadel, Dr. Afrasyab Musa Younis, representative of His Excellency the Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region, Director General of Duhok Health, and Dr. Masoud Abdul Karim, Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Duhok Technical University, and Prof. Dr. Fadel Sami Zughayr, Dean of Kufa Technical Institute and Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee Dr. Siddiq Yousef Amin, Director of the Research Center at Duhok Technical University.
