Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, the College of Polytechnic Karbala continues the activities of Entrepreneurship Week under the slogan: “From the Land of Mesopotamia, the Innovations of Our Creative Students Emerge.” The event aims to transform creative ideas into practical projects that contribute to supporting development and building a knowledge-based economy, with close follow-up by the Dean of the College, Dr. Fadhil Mohammed Abdul Dhaher.
It is worth noting that Entrepreneurship Week, which extends over several days, has featured a variety of programs and activities, including workshops, specialized seminars, and training sessions. These activities focused on developing students’ skills in business plan writing, project management, innovation, and entrepreneurial idea development, in addition to presenting success stories of graduates and showcasing distinguished initiatives and creative enterprises.
As part of the week’s activities, the Department of Tourism Technologies at the College of Polytechnic Karbala organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Role of Digital Transformation in Institutional Development,” delivered by Dr. Mohammed Thajil Abdullah, Assistant Lecturer Widian Jawad Kadhim, and Lecturer Zahraa Taher Issa.
The workshop addressed the importance of digital transformation as a comprehensive digitization process of administrative and service-related operations and procedures, contributing to institutional development through the re-engineering of traditional work methods and their conversion into intelligent, data-driven digital systems.
The workshop further explained that digitalization enhances institutional performance efficiency, improves service quality, facilitates decision-making, reduces operational costs, and promotes transparency and governance, thereby enabling institutions to adapt to technological changes and strengthen their competitiveness and institutional sustainability.
This activity forms part of the Entrepreneurship Week program, reflecting the College of Polytechnic Karbala’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and empowering students to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements, in alignment with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s strategic orientation toward investing in youth potential and building a sustainable knowledge-based economy.
