The IELTS Center at the Presidency of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University conducted the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination for a number of participants applying for postgraduate studies (Master’s and PhD programs).

It is worth noting that the procedures followed in the examination halls were carried out by the university staff supervising the test, under a high level of preparedness and readiness demonstrated by the trained personnel, ensuring the implementation of examination requirements in accordance with British standards, regulations, and instructions.

The IELTS Center at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is recognized as one of the accredited centers in the Middle Euphrates region by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The examination was supervised by specialists from the British Council, in coordination and cooperation with the university staff who were trained by the Council on the management of the examination center.

The required passing score ranges from 4 to 9, and the IELTS is considered one of the most widely recognized examinations worldwide as an indicator of an individual’s English language proficiency, particularly in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Participants are required to undergo a pre-test to determine their actual proficiency level, which qualifies them to take the final examination.

The examination mechanism includes a variety of sub-tests, some of which are paper-based and do not require any technology, while others are computer-based and rely on computers and the internet.

The center’s administration will announce the date of the next examination in the near future.
